Jerry Wiant

Jerry Wiant is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Truist Securities Corporate & Investment Banking advisory practice for financial services companies globally. Mr. Wiant has previously held leadership positions at Bank of America, Lazard, and Credit Suisse prior to joining Truist in 2023.
He has been a trusted advisor to clients in the financial services industry for over 25 years. Over this period, he has assisted clients on numerous domestic and cross-border M&A transactions representing over $200 billion of announced deal value. As a proven team leader, his success has been recognized for building a leading advisory practice that was consistently ranked among the top U.S. financial advisors in U.S. Bank M&A. Recently, he has advised on several of the most notable M&A and capital markets transactions in the FIG sector, with a particular focus on the intersection of private credit, specialty finance and insurance.
Notable M&A advisory assignments in 2024 include multiple transactions for Blue Owl Capital Inc., a leading alternative asset manager, having advised on its acquisition of Kuvare Insurance Services LP and Blue Owl Capital Corporation’s merger with Blue Owl Capital Corporation III creating the second largest publicly traded BDC by assets. Mr. Wiant also advised Atalaya Capital Management LP, a leading alternative credit manager focused on asset-based credit investments, on its recent sale to Blue Owl. Mr. Wiant also advised on the sale of Truist Insurance Holdings (“TIH”) to a consortium of investors led by Stone Point Capital and Clayton, Dubilier & Rice in an all-cash deal valued at $15.5 billion. He subsequently advised TIH on the sale of its retail insurance broker, McGriff Insurance Services, to Marsh McLennan for $7.75 billion in cash.
Jerry is originally from Ohio where he graduated from Youngstown State University and began his career with Deloitte & Touche as a CPA (inactive). He later attended the University of Chicago earning an M.B.A in finance and international business. He lives in New York with his wife and two children and serves on the Advisory Council to The Kiran Anjali Project, a nonprofit dedicated to providing educational opportunities to under-privileged children in India.
