Hansae Catlett is a Partner at HOF Capital, a global multi-stage technology investment firm based in New York with over $2B in AUM. HOF seeks to partner with ambitious entrepreneurs to build generational, category-defining companies. HOF’s portfolio includes investments in Open AI, Anthropic, xAI, SpaceX, UiPath, Motion, SoFi, and Epic Games. Hansae leads the firm’s early stage investment strategy with a focus on applied AI, B2B application software, dev tools & infra, and deep tech.
Prior to joining HOF Capital, Hansae was at Bessemer Venture Partners, partnering with companies in cloud and AI, including Canva, EvenUp, Guild, HashiCorp, and ServiceTitan. Before Bessemer, Hansae helped lead the investment strategy of Intuit founder Scott Cook’s family office with a focus on enterprise SaaS, biomedical informatics, and education technology. He’s worked with the investment teams at Floodgate, Slow Ventures and Omidyar Network, and has held product and business strategy roles at various startups.
Hansae is also a Co-founder and Partner at The MBA Fund, a seed-stage fund that partners with promising alumni and student entrepreneurs from top universities, with notable investments that include Hightouch, Jeeves, and Seso.
Previously, Hansae was a non-profit consultant and philanthropic advisor at The Bridgespan Group, supporting nonprofits, foundations and family offices with various strategic initiatives. He started his career at Pacific Community Ventures, investing in small businesses to support equitable job growth in their communities.
Hansae was named a Rising Star in VC by the Emerging Venture Capital Association. He earned his MBA and MPP from Stanford and graduated with honors from Harvard with a degree in biomedical engineering and philosophy.
