Christina Qi

Historically, the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit (CAIS) has always been committed to providing a diverse speaker line-up at its annual event in the Cayman Islands, as  showcased over the last seven years through speakers who bring a diversity of viewpoints and experiences to the stage.

Now in 2020, CAIS will push this commitment further by convening a speaker lineup that provides gender equality among those on stage. As of 16 December, 2019 CAIS announced that 50 percent of all speakers at the conference this year will be women, setting the bar higher for the future of the industry as we enter this new decade.

With more than 20 panels and 80 speakers, CAIS will bring together leading women in finance, including those who are also esteemed authors, accomplished venture capital investors, members of the top 100 Women in Finance, and even the “Queen of Quants,” to participate in some of the industry’s most candid and innovative conversations that push the envelope for alternative investing.

The exciting 50 percent female speaker lineup at CAIS this February will feature a talented range of women, including but not limited to:

• Elaine Crocker, President, Investment Advisory Committee Member & Board Director, Moore Capital Management LP
  As President of Moore Capital, Elaine oversees all areas of the firm, with the heads of finance, operations, legal, compliance, human resources, technology, and investor relations all reporting to her. Known in the industry for her ability to identify and nurture talented traders, Elaine is also responsible for the selection of portfolio managers at Moore Capital. Elaine has been profiled by various publications, including Institutional Investor, on her experiences as a woman in a male-dominated industry. She was also honored with Institutional Investor’s Manager Lifetime Achievement Award for both her role at Moore Capital and her work with 100 Women in Finance.
• Christina Qi, Founding Partner, Domeyard LP
  Christina Qi is the Founding Partner of Domeyard LP, one of the longest-running high-frequency trade hedge funds in the world. She is also the CEO of Elisify, a self-service platform for financial and alternative data that aims to decrease the barrier to data. Right after graduating MIT, only eight years ago, Christina co-founded Domeyard out of her dorm room with $1,000 in savings. Now, Domeyard trades up to US$1 billion per day. Her work in finance earned her a spot on the Forbes 2018 30 Under 30: Finance and the 2015 Boston Business Journal 40 Under 40 She has also been profiled in Hedgeweek about building a successful business and quoted in Forbes on why data can give investors an advantage in investing.
• Maryann Turcke, Chief Operating Officer, National Football League
  Maryann Turcke is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the National Football League (NFL) and is known as a true innovator in sports management and one of the few women in a sports leadership role. In her role, Maryann oversees the management of all aspects of the organisation, leading the most crucial corporate functions including human resources, public relations, and government affairs. Prior to her promotion to COO she was the President of the NFL Network. She has a vast range of knowledge of the industry, providing insights on everything from marketing in the wake of lower ratings as seen on Cheddar to her thought leadership on legal sports betting, sharing her perspective on fan engagement with com earlier this year.
• Leda Braga, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Systematica
  Leda is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Systematica and previously spent 14 years as President and Head of Systematic Trading at BlueCrest Capital Management. She is known as a strong female voice in the industry and was regarded as the “Queen of Quants” when Business Insider covered her as one of the most powerful female hedge fund managers in the world. The Financial Times also included Leda in a list of women-led hedge funds driving the industry and has noted that many of these funds have outperformed those of their male counterparts.
• Tracy McHale Stuart, Managing Partner & Chief Executive Officer, Corbin Capital Partners
  As CEO and Managing Partner, Tracy is responsible for the day-to-day management of Corbin Capital, and is Chair of Corbin’s Investment Committee. She is also a member of the Private Investment Committee, helping to formulate strategic investment policies. Tracy has been profiled by Institutional Investor as one of the leading women in the hedge fund industry and has spoken on topics in Pensions & Investments such as new investing strategies and fundraising.
• Bonnie Wongtrakool, Global Head of ESG Investments and Portfolio Manager, Western Asset Management
  As Western Asset Management’s Global Head of ESG Investments and Portfolio Manager, Bonnie leads the firm’s ESG research, engagement, strategies, and portfolios. A frequent author and media commentator, she chairs the firm’s Global ESG Advisory Committee and represents the investment management team on the Global Product Development Committee. Bonnie regularly appears on Bloomberg, where she shares everything from her outlook for markets and the state of the U.S. economy, to her take on ESG funds and treasury news.

Nisa Amoils

• Nisa Amoils, Partner, Grasshopper Capital
  Nisa Amoils is one of the best-known female venture capital tech investors and a Partner at Grasshopper Capital. She has been an early-stage investor for the past decade and was even named one of Business Insider’s Top Women in Venture Capital to Watch and Top 100 Women in Fintech. Nisa has appeared on Bloomberg to discuss the rebound in Bitcoin and Facebook’s crypto plan through Libra. She contributes to Forbes often on topics related to blockchain and authored a conversation-driving book on the industry, “WTF Is Happening: Women Tech Founders on the Rise,” which shares her perspective on female pioneers making strides across emerging tech fields.
• Breanne Madigan, Vice President of Global Institutional Markets, Ripple
  Breanne Madigan is Vice President of Global Institutional Markets at Ripple, where she oversees the Global Markets Team responsible for managing XRP liquidity and ecosystem. Before Ripple, she spent over 15 years working at Goldman Sachs and Blockchain.com where she helped transform global markets across multiple markets and platforms. Breanne is a top voice on blockchain, where she is frequently mentioned in cryptocurrency trade publications such as Bitcoinist and AMBCrypto sharing her perspectives on the state of the industry, including timely news topics such as fake volumes and how Ripple is taking the necessary steps to do their part in addressing this.
• Constance Hunter, Principal & Chief Economist, KPMG LLP
  As KPMG’s Chief Economist, Constance Hunter heads macroeconomic research for the firm. She is known for identifying economic inflection points and providing actionable economic insights to C-suite clients and KPMG leadership. In addition to forecasting U.S. economic indicators, Constance also monitors the global economy and identifies paradigm shifts brought about by disruptive technologies. Constance’s experiences enable her to speak on a wide range of macroeconomic topics. She regularly appears on Yahoo! Finance, where she’s broken down major earnings reports and markets indicators such as consumer inflation. She also recently appeared on Bloomberg Surveillance to discuss her take on the U.S.-China trade war and how it impacts markets.
• Kim Polman, Co-Founder & Chair, Reboot the Future Foundation
  Kim Polman is an international public speaker, a polymath and a citizen of the world. She has been an environmentalist for many decades and has also taught music, performed as a cellist, initiated research on expats and run a community-based website for the expat community in Geneva. Kim is a known global philanthropist and is Vice Chair for Reboot the Future Foundation, a charity dedicated to literacy for the blind and the visually impaired children in East Africa. Kim has authored the book “Imaginal Cells: Visions of Transformation,” a collection of essays that explore how a compassionate approach to business, finance, the environment, and politics can transform our world.
